| Selma, Oregon is located in the Illinois Valley in Southern Oregon and part of the Rogue River watershed. Approximately 20 miles west off of Interstate 5 we are about 40 miles, as the crow flies, or sixty miles driving through the Mountains, to the Pacific Ocean. We are basically in a
"Sea of Trees", mountains, valley's and rivers. Nice huh?? Deer Creek Valley is the north part of Illinois Valley.
Deer Creek runs into the Illinois River and then right through the
Kalmiopsis wilderness and dumps into the
Rogue River. We are talking about hard-core wilderness hiking and rafting Eco-tours. Endless swimming and fishing holes, gold panning, bird watching and mineral collecting. Miles and miles of logging roads to some of the greatest scenery in the world. Mountain meadows and pristine mountain springs, creeks and water falls. Yes we still have "Old Growth forests" but we don't know for how long. To all of you that moved away we miss you, please come back. |
